Future Darkly: The Breeding Pod, Scene #01

When Maya Kendrick stirs, she discovers that she and Derrick Pierce are lying in a translucent pod together, nude. She sits up and stretches, releasing the tension in her muscles, oblivious to the situation around her. She hasn't seen Derrick in a while; how is he doing? Following a friendly introduction, Derrick acknowledges that he has been struggling to get his quota of ladies pregnant, which has made him a little anxious. Maya jokingly attempts to calm him down if he doesn't meet his quota because she knows that nervousness won't improve his performance. According to rumours, they can't afford to fire any man who is 65 years of age or younger. But before Derrick can reply, their distinctive bracelets notify them that it's time to start the process. As they smash passionately together, there's just one thing on their minds right now. They engage in passionate sexual activity up until Derrick fills Maya with his seed. To their dismay, however, the clever wristbands inform them that Maya is not yet pregnant, making the round a failure. Derrick starts to feel more nervous as they enter a second round and scientists come to watch them from outside the pod. They take different notes while watching from behind masks. Derrick is aware that they are assessing him to determine whether or not to keep him on the project. Should he not be worth retaining...They need to keep moving forward right now, and this terror motivates him to do so.
