Chin Up, Buttercup, Scene #01
Elena (Eliza Eves) is frantically looking for her cell phone in the living room. Then, claiming she left the phone in the kitchen, her stepfather Nate (Ryan Driller) walks into the room carrying the missing phone. She expresses gratitude to him and anxiously checks her phone, but she appears let down when there are no new messages. It's Valentine's Day, and Elena claims that her lover hasn't gotten in touch with her in the last two days. She becomes agitated, questioning what went wrong. As he gives her comfort, Nate says, "Chin up, Buttercup. " He offers that he and Elena spend their own Valentine's Day together, explaining that his wife has been too busy for him lately. Nate says he will make the day even more memorable for Elena, who thinks it sounds like a wonderful idea. After that, Nate and Elena watch a romantic film, as it was Elena's intended activity with her lover. Elena feels depressed at the end of the film, though, because it makes her nostalgic for the love she believed she had with her lover before he broke up with her. Nate seizes the chance to put his hands on her, behaving as though they were consoling touches. After that, he gives Elena a box of chocolates as a surprise and slyly enjoys watching her lick her lips after devouring one. What else was Elena going to do today with her boyfriend? Nate wonders. She finally confesses that she was planning to give up her virginity after saying that it was something she couldn't do with anyone else. Elena is shocked when Nate offers to take her virginity in its place. He makes the observation that it would be best to transfer her virginity to someone she can trust because it appears like her boyfriend has dumped her. He must be the one she can trust the most,
